Instant Coffee, Anyone?
Does anyone drink instant coffee? I know what you're thinking...Yuk?!
If you haven't tried Nestle's NesCafe {not Taster's Choice NesCafe}, it makes a mean, kick*ss Frappucinno!
When I used to live in Greece, all the coffee houses used NesCafe for all their hot & cold drinks; when made right, these coffees will beat anything Starbucks can put out in a New York minute!
The reason why instant coffees like NesCafe taste better than filtered coffee is because the coffee granules in the instant have been freeze-dried, which makes all the difference!
Note: bitter coffees are made to be hot and the mild ones are made to be cold.
In my opinion, brewed coffee really stinks! It makes coffee taste like cheap mud water---a bad imitation of a good drink! Filtered coffees are always lacking in coffee oils and essences, not to mention that the process(es) used at plants to grind coffee [for brewing] often produces a bitter, harsh, "over-extracted" taste, which is no doubt why non-coffee drinkers have such a negative impression of coffee!!!
So if you want to test my theory, just pull out your shaker or your hand mixer, use 1-1/4 tsp. of NesCafe in a tall glass with abt. an inch of milk in the bottom [and as much sugar as you need] and blend it until you get a thick, creamy froth. Then slowly pour your cold water [and more milk if you need it] without wrecking the foam and possibly add a few ice cubes.
!!! let me know what you think !!!
Oh, and NesCafe has more caffeine, too!!!! LOL!

I grind and brew my own coffee at home in a french press now. The filter is a fine wire mesh. It's so much better--much richer, smoother, more flavorful...and not really bitter at all. I could drink this stuff black; sugar would ruin the taste, and the only reason I add a bit of cream is to cut the acidity, which my stomach doesn't like. Pick up a cheap french press and try it, if you haven't. :)
French press, eh? I'll check it out on eBay... afterall, a real coffee drinker has to be able to say, "I've tried it all!!!" LOL
thanks =)
WOW! Lots of good recommendations!
I just LOVE coffee so I'm willing to try anything at least once! LOL
That Medaglia D'Oro sounds like something I'll buy on my next trip to the Mediterranean market; I don't thing I've seen it at any regular supermarket...!?
French press, I've heard it makes a decent coffee so perhaps I'll ask for one for Christmas? LOL
In the meantime, Enjoy a Great Cup of Coffee!!!
